Dreamy Colorado September Wedding | Emily + Ben

September has quickly become the most popular month for weddings in Colorado. And you’ll definitely understand why when you see these amazing photos and floral designs by the BRIDE herself! Yes!! The bride was her own floral designer and she crushed it. A while back we did a Flourishing Together highlight on this lovely gal and her amazing design work in florals! Make sure you read through that blog but also… keep scrolling to see more of her dreamy September wedding!

Emily + Ben were married at Rist Canyon Inn in Laporte, CO on September 6th. They made sure that every detail of the day perfectly represented them as a couple - the type of weddings that we love the most.

Emily outdid herself with the florals on her wedding day, but as a florist… that is the only way to go! Two of our favorite and most unique designs she did on site - one covering a huge tree at the entrance with a cascading dream of ombre style florals and the other was a creative spin on the bridesmaid’s bouquets… more like bridesmaids floral tattoos!

Another one of our favorite details was their wedding favor. Emily is a florist, obviously, but also grows her own flower garden out in Timnath. She seed saves every year and for her gift, she put together an assortment of these flower seeds and put them inside what looked like a mini mason jar and topped it with a burlap cover that had B + E stamped on top. Ben, on the other hand, is a chef. (If you ask me that is the best combo that a couple could be.. Fresh flowers and good food all the time can’t be beat!) For Ben’s wedding favor, he put together what he calls the “Spice of Life” in a mini metal tin. I love that they chose these favors to represent exactly who they are and give their guests something to remember their special day!

Next, let’s talk food and beverages. Emily’s father grew a garden of heirloom tomatoes and canned the juice just for their wedding day. Their special cocktail featured this delicious addition in an Heirloom Tomato Margarita. They also featured local Colorado sodas as an alternative, yum! Food, of course was also over the top delicious. One of our other favorites, Juli y Juan catered the big day! We also have a Flourishing Together blog about their catering magic over on the website. You can read more about them here. Juli y Juan always take the time to prepare the best food but the best part is when they get to interact with the guests. They came out before dinner was served and gave a detailed explanation of the menu that the guests were about to eat. Juli let them know it was time to eat by ringing her special triangle instrument - they are so fun!
